Video Of Jodhpur Policeman Kneeling On Man’s Neck Goes Viral

Recently, a video has gone viral where a policeman is pinning down an individual. In the same video, another police officer is kneeling on the neck of the individual in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur town. The Police alleged that the man was roaming on the road without warning a mask. Further, they claimed that the man turned violent when asked for the reason of not wearing a mask.

It is alleged that the Police were beating the man named Mukesh Kumar Prajapat (38). Further, Police stopped Mukesh Kumar in the city’s Chopasni Housing Board area. The incident happened on Thursday. Police questioned him regarding the reason for not wearing the mask. Further, Police asked him because the Government has made it mandatory for everyone to use face masks in public places during the coronavirus pandemic.

Some constables initiated the procedure for charging the person with a fine. In response to this, Mukesh Kumar Prajapat attacked those constables and tore their uniform. Subsequently, a passerby recorded the video showing the man pinned down by the Police.

Mental Illness

Somkaran Charan, Dev Nagar police station’s SHO, told that a criminal case had been registered against Prajapat. Further, they produced Prajapat in the Court. And Court remanded him in Judicial custody for 14 days. Prajapat is mentally ill. Last year, his father filed a complaint against him, alleging that he gouged his eye. Also, the Police filed the charge sheet in that case.

The Police called for a control room van for taking Prajapat to the Police station. But, the accused Prajapt started slapping them and started a fight again. A huge crowd gathered at the place of the incident. Various people compared this incident with the Minneapolis, U.S incident. Where a 46-year African American, George Floyd, died after a white police officer knelt on his neck for several minutes.
