PM Modi, addressed the 75th General Assembly virtually via a pre-recorded speech. He made a strong start by asking “Till when do we have to wait? Till when will India be kept away from the UN’s decision-making process?” He reminded the United Nations that 130 crore Indians regardless of everything believe in its goals. Adding to the statement, he said the global body needed to adapt and change to stay relevant in current times.
PM Modi’s Strong Statements At The Assembly
On Saturday evening honourable Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a strong pitch for a more integral role in the United Nations Security Council. In his powerful opening remark stated that- India never trobled the world in its times of weakness. Also, India was never a “Bojh” Burden on the world in it’s strongest times. But despite all this, how long do we need to wait? India never failed to send soldiers for UN-Peace Keeping Missions and often ended up losing militants.
India And United Nations Working Towards Common Goal
He also reminded us that the United Nations and India have common ideals and main principles. He said that both of them have been working towards the goal of Vasudev Kutumbakam- The world is one family. A Mantra that has echoed in UN halls many times. India has always thought and worked hard for the welfare of the world.
This address has given hope to the people of India. Reform is needed in the UN. Indians’ belief in the UN is unparalleled. United Nations enjoys respect in India.
