India’s Covid-19 tally over 1.45 lakh, death toll at 4,167

India has reported around about 1.5 lakh coronavirus cases after 6.5k new infections were reported between 25th and 26th of May.

This is an utterly shocking number for any country as such, for now, we were hoping to lead towards normalcy.

The Union Health Ministry recorded this data at 8 am on Tuesday morning which showed that around 146 people died after contracting the virus.

So far, about 4,167 people have lost their lives to this horrid disease. Nonetheless, those who have recovered were around 60,490.

Undoubtedly. 4 states were the majorly affected ones, including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Delhi.

Maharashtra has 52,667

More than half of the numbers come from four states.

Maharashtra has 52,667 cases of the coronavirus disease and Tamil Nadu has the second-highest number of patients in the country with 17,082 people infected so far. Gujarat has 14,460 people who have been infected by Sars-Cov-2, the virus that causes Covid-19 till date and Delhi’s tally has jumped to 14,053.

With a rising number of cases, more than 6,500 every day since the last four days, India now is the tenth most affected country by the coronavirus pandemic after the United States, Brazil, Russia, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France, Germany.

India had overtaken Iran to become the 10th biggest hot spot of the pathogen, which has rapidly swept the globe.

More than 5.49 million people have been infected and 346,232 have died across the world, according to Johns Hopkins Covid-19 tracker.

The US has recorded a further 532 deaths from Covid-19, bringing the toll to 98218, with 16,62,375 cases of the virus, far more than any other nation.

Bitter Truth

This exponential rise in the number of new cases on the ninth day of lockdown 4.0 is excruciatingly disturbing.

The 4th season of the lockdown is supposed to be done and dusted with, on the 31st of May.

India had apparently eased a lot of restrictions, even including train travels and domestic flight travels.

The Indian Council of Medical Research’s reported it had collected around about 24,000 blood samples from 60 districts over the past 2 weeks.

This was regarding a serosurvey. Its a test of blood serum to check if it had been exposed to COVID-19.
