Even before “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” hit the big screen, we learned that plans were already underway for a sequel (via The Hollywood Reporter). About a year later, in November 2019, the sequel received an April 8, 2022 release date, however, in April 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forcefully ended this plan.
Spider-Verse Fans Release Date
Left with no other choice, Sony pushed the film back to October 7, 2022, where it has remained ever since. Unfortunately, just like the one before it, this release date is now also a lost cause.
As revealed by Variety on April 20, 2022, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part 1)” – now renamed simply “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” – moved to June 2, 2023. Meanwhile, the third film in the franchise took the spot on March 29, 2024, and Sony’s Spider-Man Universe “Madame Web” entry is set to debut on July 7, 2023.
As of this writing, Sony has yet to comment. this change. , but nonetheless, all we can do is hope that it’s the latest “Across the Spider-Verse” delay that suffers.
It’s a shame the wait goes on even longer for “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” but if it’s even half as good as its predecessor, then at least it’ll be worth the wait.
