Patanjali Ayurved‘s Swasari Coronil kit launched as a coronavirus cure. This has proved to be quite a controversy. Medical experts are investigating it, will be available across the country, Yoga teacher Ramdev said recently. He claims there was no restriction on selling the kit for COVID-19 management.
AYUSH Ministry’s Take
Recently, the government had stopped Patanjali from advertising medicines as a virus cure. Also, they had asked for information about clinical trials that Ramdev claimed were 100 per cent fruitful.
The Ayush ministry has confirmed that Patanjali can sell the product but not as a cure for COVID-19. AYUSH Ministry has only permitted to sell this particular formulation as an immunity booster. He said they will not sell this as a medicinal cure for COVID-19, the ministry said, according to PTI.
Patanjali CEO Acharya Balkrishna today said that they did not claim that Coronil could cure or can be used to control coronavirus. Further, clarifying the situation, Balkrishna added that they simply made medicines. Also, used the same on coronavirus patients during clinical trials and that worked, and there is no confusion.
They said they made the combination of Tulsi Giloy Ashwagandha at an advanced level. And when the clinical trials were done on the patients of COVID-19, the coronavirus patients were cured. They also said conspiracy has been hatched against them And if the Ayush Ministry asks them to conduct clinical trials once again then we are ready to face it, Balkrishna added.
In June, Patanjali had launched launched ‘Coronil and Swasari’, and it claims Ayurvedic cure for treating COVID-19. They added this has shown 100 per cent favourable results during clinical trials on affected patients, at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar.
The company also claimed that the clinical trials which were controlled in nature. Also, these were jointly conducted by Patanjali Research Institute which is based out of Haridwar and the National Institute of Medical Sciences, Jaipur.
