Former Union Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh was terribly ill. Singh passed away at the age of 74. Mr Singh was an active member of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He also considered a loyal supporter of the leader Lalu Prasad Yadav. However, due to some inside the party conflict, he resigned from the party.
The five-term Lok Sabha MP, Singh recently created headlines despite his illness. He was the architect of The MGNREGA scheme. Singh accomplished almost four decades in the political field. He even administered as the Union Minister for Rural Development during the time of Manmohan Singh’s cabinet. In June he resigned from the post of RJD’s vice president. Observing the following development in the Bihar election process, he took the most significant decision to quit the party. On 10th September, he wrote a handwritten letter to the party chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav Lalu Prasad, later on, rejected the resignation.
Raghuvansh Prasad Singh: Condolences
RJD’s party lead Lalu Prasad Yadav earlier rejected Singh’s resignation. He furthermore asked him not to go anywhere. Only a few days after the incident, Singh bid his goodbye to everyone. Yadav tweeted his condolences for him. Lalu expressed that he felt disheartened as he had asked Singh not to go anywhere. But according to Lalu, he has gone too far, leaving everything behind and will be missed.
PM Shri Narendra Modi himself paid acknowledgement to the late politician. According to Modi, Singh had an in-depth knowledge regarding poverty. He also had wisdom in the rural sector and the problems faced by them. PM further shared the memories of him with the former Union Minister, Raghuvansh. The memories included the meeting of the two. Mr Modi also stated that his demise created a void in the political sphere of Bihar as well as the country.
