PM Narendra Modi digitally launched Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) on September 10. He also inaugurated the e-Gopala App. The app is about a comprehensive breed improvement marketplace and information portal for direct use of farmers.
PM Narendra Modi launched Matsya Sampada Yojana’ for the sustainable development of the fisheries sector. He informed about the various initiatives in fisheries and animal husbandry sector in Bihar.
People engaged in pisciculture will get maximum benefits. The aim behind the initiatives to boost the fisheries sector in the next 2-3 years. It will also help to increase production.
The PM said that villages should become the pillars of “Atmanirbhar Bharat”. The schemes will enrich the quality of products and further strengthen them.

Blue Revolution means work related to fisheries, White Revolution means dairy work, Sweet Revolution means honey production. The schemes will benefit all these sectors. The scheme has launched in 21 States. The budget of the scheme is 20 thousand crore rupees. Moreover, on its initial stage, around 1,700 crores worth work is taking place.
PM Narendra Modi also announced the establishment of a fish brood bank at Sitamarhi. Along with an aquatic disease referral laboratory at Kishanganj, for which assistance has been provided under the PMMSY.
Depending on the consumption of fish and fishery products in the country, the PMMSY initiated. Moreover, along with this scheme fish producers will get a new market, infrastructure and possibility to extend the sector. It is the first time after Independence when such a huge budget had been provided for PMMSY.
