NHL 23 Confirms Release Date, Official Trailer, Star & More

NHL 23 Confirms Release Date:- It will be released on 14th October 2022. More information about NHL 23 is given in this blog so read this blog to the end of the page and get all the information you want to know.

Hockey fans, especially those of us across the pond, always look forward to the latest NHL game release – and this year it’s no different.

NHL 23 will be EA’s second step in building its first hockey game with the Frostbite Engine, showcasing next-gen performance. NHL 22 provided visual improvements and player animations, but fans and critics alike felt the title was half-baked.

NHL 23 Release Date

It will be released on 14th October 2022. We hope the next NHL 23 release date builds on the foundation that NHL 22 has built using the new game engine and makes full use of the added power of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

NHL 23 Release Date

The Loadout will bring you the line on all the latest NHL 23 news right here. But most importantly – when is NHL 23 released and when can you start building your dream team?

Previous NHL titles released

  • NHL September 19 – 14, 2018
  • NHL 20 – September 13, 2019
  • NHL 21 – October 16, 2020

The ripple effect of the pandemic has pushed back 2021 game releases, so we saw NHL 22 drop on October 15, 2021. With that in mind, we should see NHL 23 drop mid to late September, in line with the original release schedule.

It’s also worth noting that EA always drops standard editions of its games on a Friday, so we’re anticipating the full release date for NHL 23 to be Friday, September 16th.

Early Access for Premium Editions and EA Play members will be available in advance.

Game Modes Of NHL 23

The NHL has matured over the years, with four main offerings. World of Chel (hockey slang for the NHL game series) was NHL 20’s last big addition, so we don’t think any groundbreaking new ways to play NHL 23 will drop.

Franchise Mode is the classic NHL Career Mode experience. You can start with your favorite team or organize an expansion draft and become the 33rd club in the NHL. Skate your way to the Stanley Cup while recruiting players, developing future talent, and managing that all-important salary cap.

Be a pro and progress from the minor leagues, or jump straight into your first big NHL contract with the single-player career mode. Being a Pro lets you play hockey the way you want and build a legacy with multi-season scenarios and challenges. Be A Pro is also a great way to learn skills to use on the ice in World of Chel.

Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) is EA Sports’ hugely popular Ultimate Team mode introduced to Hockey. Tear through packs, build your fantasy team, create perfect synergy, and slash the ice in offline and online competitions.

World of Chel brings online play with friends to the NHL. Skate with a custom skater online in many game modes including 1v1v1 free-for-alls, 3v3s, and 6v6 full games in casual or ranked matches, including regular play-offs.

You will rise in rank and unlock new progressions in the EASHL (EA Sports Hockey League). If you don’t have a club with friends, drop-ins are available for all game modes.

World of Chel also brings the craziest (and dustiest) player and rink customizations to the game, with outrageous unlockables through seasonal rewards – no microtransactions!

More About NHL 23 Releases

With the introduction of X-Factors in NHL 22, the premium edition of the game was called the X-Factor Edition. Whether EA sticks to that name or not, the deluxe edition of the game will release three days before the standard edition of the game, which we believe will be Tuesday, October 14, 2022.

These enhanced EA sports titles are familiar across the FIFA and Madden franchises, and come with bonus content, including Ultimate Team packs. In NHL 22, players received bonus World of Chel items and Be a Pro boosts in addition to HUT content.

Prices and Platforms Of NHL 23

You can expect NHL 23 to be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Standard editions of the game are expected to cost £59.99 on last-gen consoles and £69.99 on next-gen consoles.

Will NHL 23 be released on PC? It’s a shame that NHL 22 isn’t available to PC players through Origin, and sadly, it looks like PC players won’t be getting their hands on the game this year either.

Cover Star of NHL 23

Who’s in the running to be the cover star of NHL 23? Toronto Maple Leaf’s star Auston Matthews took the cover of NHL 22 on all versions of the title, his second appearance after NHL 20. He didn’t have the cover star curse of EA Sports, posting outstanding numbers as the Leaf’s push for the Stanley Cup, which has eluded them for so long.

So who can we expect to see on the cover of NHL 23?

Could Edmonton’s Connor McDavid grab the second cover after posting even more leading numbers at 21-22? Oilers fans certainly hope so. Jonathan Huberdeau, Johnny Gaudreau, and Cale Makar are also on our prediction list.

Will we see a goalie on the cover – maybe Marc-André Fleury? The cult nettie surpassed 500 wins during the 21-22 season, cementing his status as one of the greatest players of all time.

NHL 23 Trailer

We’ll have to wait patiently for the NHL 23 trailer, with the first look usually coming a few months before the main release – late August being the time to watch…

NHL 23 Early Access

In addition to free games, EA Play offers its members full ten-hour trials of its latest sports titles. For the past few years, hockey fans have had a head start on their Hockey Ultimate with access to the game before anyone else. All progress made carries over to the full game if purchased.

NHL 22 unlocked on EA Play eight days before the release of the standard edition. EA Play members also get additional benefits in NHL HUT, such as 10% off digital purchases and exclusive rewards, packs, and customization options.

So there you have it, everything we know about NHL 23 so far. Admittedly, it’s not much at the moment, but that should change in the near future.

For now, though, find a game to play while you wait among our lists of the best PS5 games and the best Xbox Series X games – we promise it’s worth it.
