MTV VMAs becomes the first live award show in the post-Covid era. It seems like Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, BTS and The Weeknd have emerged as the top winners. BTS walked away with Best pop and Best K-pop category. Megan Thee Stallion’s massively viral ‘Savage’ won in the Best Hip Hop category.
The biggest musical nights of the year- MTV Video Music Awards 2020 witnessed marvellous performances by BTS, The Black Eyed Peas, DaBaby, The Weeknd, Doja Cat, Maluma with CNCO and Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande. It was a completely different experience than the usual fanfare and red carpet walks.
Due to the pandemic, the enthusiastic crowd at Barclays Centre was given a miss this year.
Lady Gaga walked away with five awards. She collected a handful of awards and became the big winner at MTV Video Music Awards 2020. She shared three of the trophies with Ariana Grande for their collaboration track ‘Rain On Me’. They also bagged Song Of The Year, Best Collaboration and Best Cinematography. They also entertained their fan by performing duo live for the first time at the ceremony. The arrangements were made by keeping in mind the social distancing practice.
Lady Gaga also added in her achievements- Artist Of The Year and was awarded the first-ever Tricon Award for her art and generous efforts.
Next rank in the list of big winners of the night goes to Bangtan Boys. BTS walked away with four Moonman trophies. The Korean group performed live.
While MTV VMAs continued to award the artists who are best in their respective categories, several performances also took place. The performances took place outside at various locations in New York City, with little or no live audience attending.
The event contained all the entertainment factors. The 2020 MTV VMAs was unique.
