The Italian media reported that Mino Raiola had died, but he is battling for his life

The Italian media reported that Mino Raiola had died, but he is battling for his life. Reports that Mino Raiola – the agent of Erling Haaland, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic – died have been denied.

The Italian is said to be suffering from an illness and Italian media had reported on Thursday that he had died. However, a close friend and aide Jose Fortes Rodriguez have since said to LIT that he is in a “bad position” but that he is not deceased.

A chief physician at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan also told Italian news agency ANSA that Raiola was “fighting” for her life. The head of the hospital’s intensive care unit, Alberto Zangrillo, said he was “outraged” by the reports in Italy.

And a tweet from Raiola’s official Twitter account was posted shortly after the reports were denied:

Mino Raiola Died

Raiola is known for his influential role in securing big money transfers to European giants for his clients. He is involved in negotiations over Haaland’s potential departure from Borussia Dortmund this summer, with Manchester City seen as the favorites.

He is also liaising with Pogba over his impending departure from Manchester United at the end of the season. Raiola helped orchestrate the Frenchman’s £89million transfer from Juventus in 2016 – a world record at the time.

That summer, he also helped Ibrahimovic secure a move to United on a one-year deal. Eight years earlier, the ‘super-agent’ played a part in Robinho’s high-profile move to City in 2008, the first signing of owner Sheikh Mansour’s reign, before backing their acquisition of Mario Balotelli in 2010.

Among his clients are also Matthijs de Ligt, Gianluiggi Donnarumma and Marco Veratti. Raiola, who grew up in the Netherlands, began his agency career in the 1980s and first rose to prominence on the world stage by arranging the 1993 transfer of Dennis Bergkamp from Ajax to Inter Milan.
