Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam or people lovingly called him SPB, passed away in Chennai on Friday at 1.04 pm. The 74-year-old singer admitted to MGM Healthcare Hospital, a private facility on August 5. The singer tested positive with a mild novel COVID-19 and advised to home quarantine. SPB denied and opted to get admitted to the hospital instead. But soon his condition got critical. The singer’s son SP Charan then revealed that he was responsive to treatment and expressed hope of a complete recovery. But SPB’s health took a turn for the worse on September 24. We lost the singer on 25 August after he succumbed to his illness.
President Kovind’s condolence message
President Ram Nath Kovind gave his condolences to the family in a heartfelt tweet. He said -In the passing of music legend SP Balasubrahmanyam, Indian music has lost one of its most melodious voices. He also added – Called ‘Paadum Nila’ or ‘Singing Moon’ by his countless fans, he was honoured with Padma Bhushan and many National Awards. Condolences to his family, friends, and admirers. With his tweet, we could feel that he is also as shaken by the loss as the entire nation.

He expected to get discharged in two days and go back home. But, unfortunately, that could not happen. Music industry feels void on SP Balasubrahmanyam demise.
