The former chief minister of Melaka Datuk Seri Mohd Adib Mohamad Adam passed away at the age of 81 years. He took his last breath at Kuala Lumpur Hospital on September 21.
Who was Mohd Adib Mohamad Adam? What was the reason for the death of the former cm?
Mohd Adib Mohamad Adam, the former CM of Melaka, was born on July 2, 1941. He held the position of the fifth Melaka chief minister from July 11, 1978, to April 26, 1982. Before entering into politics, the former CM used to work as an assistant district officer in the northwestern town of Kuala Selangor. After this, he resigned from this position and became the executive secretary at PWTC.
Abid served as the chief minister of Melaka from July 11, 1978, to April 26, 1982. Apart from this, he served as information minister and rural, cooperative, and entrepreneurship minister during his political career.
According to Datin Seri Zainiah Hussein, the wife of the deceased chief minister, Mohd complained to him that he could not breathe correctly, after which he was admitted to HKL hospital.

Still, unfortunately, he could not be saved, and at 8:20 am, he was declared dead. His wife also stated the former cm had suffered from a stroke only a month ago, and due to this stroke, his health worsened, he became quiet, and his memory was also affected due to the stroke.
Last rites of the former cm and his legacy as a political figure:
The last rites of the former CM, which included the shrouding of his body, took place at the mosque. Funeral prayers were also performed for the deceased former chief minister at 4:25 pm.
There was the presence of more than 100 people who were led by Mohamad Khairi Hussein, who is the Imam of the mosque. The former cm of Melaka will be buried at Melaka Heroes’ Mausoleum, before which maghrib prayers will be conducted.
Adib’s close friend and professor by profession, Dr shad Saleem, said that the former CM made a massive impact on the lives of villagers as he helped them immensely and was good at his work.
