74-year-old Cornish geothermal energy pioneer passes away. Dr Tony Batchelor created Cornish Geothermal Energy. He died on Monday, 19th of September, 2022.
At the time of his age, he was around 74 years old.
A disease is said to have caused Dr Tony Batchelor’s demise, but the cause of his death has not been determined. In recent years, Dr Tony Batchelor has gained a lot of fame for his expertise in Geothermal Energy. The U.K.-based company GeoScience Ltd was founded by Tony Batchelor in 1985.
Who Was Dr Tony Batchelor?
GeoScience Ltd.’s Wellbore Rock Mechanics Group was headed by Dr Tony Batchelor. He taught rock mechanics for over 12 years at the Camborne School of Mines as a mining engineer. During the 1970s, Dr Tony Batchelor developed a geothermal project at Rosemanowes in the United Kingdom.
From 1976 to 1991, he served as the director of the UK Hot Dry Rock Geothermal Project. Dr Tony Batchelor has over 30 years of experience in geothermal energy.
Having worked in the industry for more than 30 years, Dr Bachelor is a world expert on geothermal energy.
While working at GeoScience Ltd., he worked on global geothermal projects, including in Japan, Turkey, Indonesia, and the US. KUTh Energy Limited is proud to have him as its Technical Advisory Board member. In addition, he served on the International Geothermal Association (IGA) board as a Founder Member.
