With the Netflix series already well underway thanks to incredible reviews and loyal fans of Alice Oseman’s books, will the streaming service renew the gem of LGBTQ+ teen romance for another season? Here’s what we know so far, including what happens next to Charlie and Nick in the graphic novels.
When Heart stroke will season 2 be released?
Well, it all depends on whether Netflix greenlights another season of the show. If a second season is confirmed, fans will be able to get a better idea of when they can expect to see season 2 on their screens.
Heart stroke season 1 began production in April 2021 and ended in June 2021. The show then dropped on Netflix 10 months later. If season 2 is greenlit and production follows a similar schedule, fans could possibly see Charlie and Nick return in 2023.
Netflix usually tends to wait a few weeks or months before announcing that a show has been renewed. Keep your eyes open on the Heart stroke Social account. We will update this article as soon as there is confirmation.
Heart stroke Cast of season 2: who will return?
Yes, Heart stroke Season 2 continues, so all of your favorites will likely return for more depending on how the first season ends.
Of course, Joe Locke and Kit Connor will return as Charlie and Nick, respectively. William Gao and Yasmin Finney will return as Tao and Elle, with Tobie Donovan, Kizzy Edgell, and Corinna Brown returning as Isaac, Darcy, and Tara.
Other cast members likely to return include Sebastian Croft (Ben), Rhea Norwood (Imogen), Cormac Hyde-Corrin (Harry), and Jenny Walser (Tori). Chetna Pandya (Coach Singh), Fisayo Akinade (Mr. Ajayi), Joseph Balderrama (Julio Spring), and Alan Turkington (Mr. Lange) will also likely return.
Fans are also no doubt hoping that Olivia Colman, who plays Nick’s mother Sarah, will also return for another season.
Heart stroke Season 2: What Happens Next?
Well, now that Charlie and Nick are boyfriends and the pair are sharing their exciting news with their closest friends and family, a potential season 2 will likely explore the next stage of their relationship together.
Viewers will hopefully be able to find out more about Tara and Darcy’s relationship. Elsewhere, we’ll likely see more of Tao and Elle’s relationship, they won’t, as the two deal with their feelings for each other. Will they finally admit that they love each other? We hope!
But while it looks like there could be a lot of eerie joy and adorable teenage romance in the air for our three favorite couples, there’s sure to be drama too – thanks to Ben Hope and Harry Greene.
News of Charlie and Nick’s relationship will no doubt hit the school halls, but while some people will be thrilled, Ben and Harry will likely each have something absolutely awful to say about it.
What happens to Charlie and Nick in the rest of the Heart stroke books?
Heart stroke Season 1 ends with Nick and Charlie becoming boyfriends at the beach before Nick returns home to hang out with his mother. Luckily, Alice Oseman’s graphic novel series continues after these events, which means fans will be able to dive in and continue the story.
In later chapters, readers see Nick and Charlie decide to open up to their friends about their relationship and deal with personal difficulties. And while Nick’s mum was pretty adamant that Charlie couldn’t go to Menorca with them because she had already booked the tickets, Charlie and Nick head off to Paris together for a school trip with the rest of their friends.
The graphic novel also delves further into Elle and Tao still tiptoeing around their feelings for each other and also introduces Nick’s older brother, David, who doesn’t seem to come to terms with the fact that Nick is bisexual.
As for the rest? Well, you’ll have to read the graphic novels yourself. There will be no major spoilers here!
