According to the sources, It been informed that Nirmala Sitharaman Said that There will be an Increase in Public health expenditure, Which as of now hovers a little over 1%. With the 20 lakh crore Package coming into the role to save the Indian Economy and with the slogan ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat”, It has been made very clear that Government will make sure to do every possible thing to Save the Economy.
Apart from the increase in Health Expenditure, the Government has also decided to create a dedicated infectious diseases part at hospitals. Also, a diagnostic lab will be established until the block level to strengthen the country’s capacity of testing at the grass-root level. The Government will make sure to enhance lab network in villages.
This will help in maintaining robust surveillance. All steps have been taken, keeping in mind about the pandemic situation for the future.
“The Government will be increasing investments in public health to be ready for such eventualities in future,” said Sitharaman.
It has also been made sure that the Government will allocate an additional Rs40,000 Crore for the MGNREGS Employment Guarantee scheme. On Saturday, it got ou that the central Government would initiate transparency, competition and private sector participation in the coal sector and infrastructure development of Rs 50,000 crore.
Another essential step was providing an insurance (cover) of Rs 50 Lakh per person for health professionals under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.
