Cybercrime of 17 lakh took place in Andhra Pradesh which created more tension in the minds of people who are already tackling the covid-19 situation. A couple lost 17 lakh in order to gain 2 crores by selling their kidney.
The couple already had a financial crisis. They decided to overcome the problem by selling their kidney.
N Bhargavi and M Satyanryana, residents of Yanamalakuduru, Andhra Pradesh used to run a medical shop in partnership with other people. Due to some situations, they had a loss in business. The tension due to loss led them in a dispute with the partners. To overcome the financial loss, they decided to sell a kidney. N Bhargavi agreed to sell her kidney.
The couple then started to search for a hospital to carry out the process. The couple came across Sakra World Hospital in Delhi. They wanted to complete the process as soon as possible, so without delay, they contacted the hospital to arrange a meeting.
The Cybercrime scam of 17 lakh
N Bhargavi and her husband discussed the deal with a man named Chopra Singh. He offered the couple a hefty amount of 2 crores for one kidney. As the couple needed money, they thought that iy a great deal and ultimately agreed.
Chopra asked the couple to pay the processing fee of the transaction. He further ensured them that once the deal is done, they would get the refund according to The Times of India report.
Chopra Singh created a maze for the couples. As per his plans, the couple fell into the trap. Chopra kept on asking money by different excuses. He collected 17 lakh from the couple.
The couple in the temptation to get 2 crores agreed to all the demand made by Chopra. In 24 transactions the amount was transferred to the bank account of Chopra. The couple also took the bank loan to pay off the money demanded.
The couple asked Chopra to pay them back as per the deal, but Chopra again asked rupees 5 lakh from the couple. The two get cautious and reported the case to the police. Police registered the case and initiated an investigation to arrest the accused.
