Who Was Brittaness Drexel?
She was a 4 years old New York girl when she was missing. Now she is found after 13 years as a dead woman. Brittanee Drexel was last seen in Myrtle Beach walking between hotels in April 2009. Her boyfriend, who stayed at home in Rochester, New York, became concerned when she stopped answering texts. Raymond Moody abducted and raped Drexel that night, before killing her and burying her body in the woods the next day, said Georgetown County Sheriff Carter Weaver on Monday in a news conference.
What happened To Brittaness Drexel?
The body of Drexel was discovered in Georgetown County on Wednesday, about 35 miles down the coast from where she disappeared. The discovery followed a flurry of tips and investigations, including the arrest, on May 4, of Moody for obstruction of justice. Until Monday, investigators refused to comment on the break in the case. Moody, 62, was charged on Monday. Sheriff Weaver said Moody has a sex offender history that he did not elaborate on. Moody is listed on the state’s sex offender registry for 1983 convictions in California for sodomy by force of a person under 14 and kidnapping, according to records maintained by the State Law Enforcement Division.
After 13 years of wild rumors, including stash houses for cadavers of $exual abuse victims to be fed by alligators and rumors that there was a link to other missing women, the sheriff, chief of police in Myrtle Beach, agent in charge of the South Carolina FBI office and solicitor of North Carolina said little Monday about what helped them crack the case.
