Apple, the worldwide company last year, announced its new series of apple watch. The launched series comes under series 5. Apple introduced many new features in series 5. Through the innovation of apple, the apple watch saves 61-year-old Indian Man’s life. The case arises as a first such reported case in India till date. The ECG (electrocardiogram) feature which introduced in its apple watch series 5, saved the life of 61 years old from Indore Resident.

Rajhans, a retired pharma professional who use apple watch series 5. The watch came out as a gifted to him by his son Siddarth who is a student at Harvard University. He works with some of the top tech companies in silicon valley.
Apple Watch allows the user to check the ECG function. During the late-night, Siddarth’s father was getting arrhythmia signals or irregular heartbeats. The watch indicated critical signs when the same result persisted Siddarth decided to share the findings with the doctor. However, Rajhans did suffer from hypertension; he didn’t have any heart condition.
Further diagnosis revealed that Rajhans suffered low ejection fraction and required immediate heart surgery. Due to the Covid -19 pandamic and restrictions, the surgery was delayed. However, Rajhans continued to monitor his ECG on his apple watch.
Siddarth told that his father underwent a Mitral Valve replacement surgery and it was his Apple Watch that helped to detect the irregular heart rhythm prior to the Valve failure Echo-cardiograph.
Siddarth also told that “the idea of having a device like Apple Watch is to strike a balance between using tech and medical awareness in order to take charge of our parent’s lives. It saved my dad’s life. It’s a life-changing product.” After the incident, post surgery siddarth wrote to the CEO of apple company and also heard from his last week saying “Siddharth, thank you for sharing this. I am happy to note that your father received medical attention on time, and I hope he’s feeling better now. Our team will connect with you,” Cook responded through an email.
In 2018, a Pune-based 53-year-old lawyer Arati Joglekar wrote an email to Cook, thanking him for providing a “life-changing” technology. She said so by referring to Apple watch. Arati also mentioned the incident in which apple watch saved her life. She stated that her Watch gave her alert signals as the wearable kept buzzing to take a deep breath and relieve the stress as her heart rate had shot up to 136 beats per minute. Her son wrote an email to Cook, to which Cook responded: “I’m happy your Mum is fine. Thanks for your note and kind words. Best”.
