Al Primo, best known and credited for creating the eyewitness format in the news field, passed on Thursday, 29th September 2022. He was a native of Pittsburgh. He was considered a broadcast news legend and a pioneer in journalism.
Al Primo Cause of death:
According to some reports, Al Primo was battling cancer. His family has not shared anything regarding his death. However, it is believed that Al Primo died peacefully at his home in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. While remembering Primo, his eldest daughter said he was extremely empathetic and sympathetic. He always cared about the joys and sorrows of the people surrounding him.
Who was Al Primo?
He was born on 3rd July 1935 in Pittsburgh. He attended North Catholic Boys School and Perry high school. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. After graduation, he worked at KDKA for around 11 years, from 1953 to 1964. Al Primo then moved to Philadelphia. There he worked on creating an eyewitness news format.
In his career, he also worked with ABC for the New York center. Primo was a vice president in charge of news at ABC. He worked in this position from 1972 to 1973. He attempted to launch an early version of streaming news in 1999. In 2002, he created Teen Kids News. This show allowed young people to develop their interest in news and information.

Primo was married to Rosina Pregano. They were married for 55 years until her demise in March 2018. They had three children together. One of their children, Albert, predeceased him in death.
